Julie Bishop, CPFA™

Financial Advisor

Julie Bishop was born and raised in Arcadia, California and is a graduate of the University of Southern California. As a child, Julie learned from her father about the importance of financial planning and saving for retirement. One could say “retirement planning is in Julie’s DNA”. Julie’s father, Howard Neal, Jr. worked in the Retirement Plan industry for over 50 years and was a consultant to Congress on the legislation known as ERISA.  Julie worked with her father during college at National Associates Inc.. After college she began a successful career working at Benefit Planning Inc., a retirement consulting firm in Southern California. Julie worked in plan administration, compliance, and with actuaries on Defined Benefit Plans. She worked extensively with plan documents, “custom design” qualified plans and IRS determinations.  Julie is knowledgeable in pension laws, regulations and the Department of Labor requirements.

In July 1998, she married Roger Bishop a military officer and moved to Great Falls, Montana. There she joined a large independent stockbrokerage firm, D.A. Davidson & Co. At Davidson, Julie worked as a Financial Advisor, Trust Officer and Retirement Plan Administrator.  She worked with employers regarding plan design and operation. She helped individuals with investments.  She was a company resource for the Davidson stockbrokers regarding retirement options available to clients. Julie oversaw the administration and investment education for the D.A. Davidson 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan and Employee Stock Ownership Plan. These plans had 800 participants in thirty three branches in seven states. 

In 2004, Julie left the corporate world to focus on her family.  Staying active, Julie worked part time for an international beauty firm. As a successful Sales Representative and Recruiter, she became an award-winning leader.  During 2012 & 2013 Julie was ranked number 2 in team sales for the region, which included Colorado, Wyoming, Eastern Utah and part of Nebraska. Her team had 400 representatives with sales in excess of $1.2 million.  In 2015 Julie’s husband retired from the military and she returned to her passion, working in the financial industry.

Today Julie has a successful career working as a Financial Advisor. She enjoys educating and helping individuals with insurance products, investments and retirement planning. She works with businesses of all sizes consulting on retirement plans.  “People need to plan for the future and I can make a positive difference in the lives of others. My goal is help people make sound financial decisions and find effective retirement solutions.”
